Members of the G.W. Lisk Corporation’s Advanced Manufacturing Machinist Apprenticeship program have completed the first Foundations for Work professional skills program for apprentices.
Participants from AMM program are showing their enthusiasm for receiving their certificates after 18 hours of instruction in Professional “Power” Skills.
Topics include: Adaptability, Self-Awareness, Communication, Collaboration, Empathy, Solution Mindset, Resilience, Entrepreneurial Mindset, Social Diversity Awareness and an introduction to Toyota’s Improvement Kata. We look forward to this team applying their learning in daily teamwork and problem solving.
Foundations for Work is a skills development course based upon the New World of Work 21st Century Skills program and Toyota’s Improvement Kata. Improvement Kata is a skill building process that applies scientific thinking to problem-solving and goal attainment.
